The Watersports Group went out to Pelican Bay and Clam Pass. The return
trip was 1.93 miles and took us 38:55 minutes. Going out there took a
lot longer. One of the marker's was lost in Irma and all 3 boats turned
the wrong way. The kayak could make it under some branches that the
canoes wouldn't venture. We ended up all 3 boats separating - WHOOPS.
When the kayak came out the other way, they turned the wrong way and
started paddling back. It was fun and we had to use cell phones to hook
back up. Heading out to the Gulf we were in extremely shallow water and
strong current. A couple of us got far wetter than expected. But it was
worth it for all the birds and watching the dolphin fishing in the surf.
We even had a bathroom break and ice cream before the return trip. In attendance: Ruth J, her mom Sue, Mary B, Susan O, Anne V, and Barbara M
